Viviparous Waterlilies

A viviparous waterlily makes new lilies out of the center of each of their leaves. (Standard waterlilies reproduce on the rhizome.) Viviparous lilies are great for people that like to share their plants, since they're easy to collect and repot.

IHL Nymphaea 'Mangkala Ubol'

Medium/large hardy water lily from Asia. Creamy peach flowers measuring about 4 to 6 inches across. Leaves are about 6 to 8 inches across with purple/bronze marbling. Spread of 6 to 8 feet, prefers full sun. One of the few hardy viviparous water lilies. New plants form in flower heads. USDA ZONES 4-9.

Fragrant, pure white flower that stands high above the water on a robust stalk. Oval leaves with splashes of burgundy. Viviparous. 5 to 8 foot leaf spread. ZONES 8-11

A viviparous waterlily that has large, light pink flowers with yellow centers. The leaves are dark green with red blotches. It is one of the most prolific of the viviparous waterlilies. USDA ZONES 8-11

This is a beautiful, free blooming, purple and white lily that will grace any pond. The petals are a rich violet on the ends and change to white at their bases.
