      Echinodorus chordifolius belongs to a genus that is all important to the aquarium plant nad bog plant trades. There are several members of this genus that are commoonly used as aquarium plants, this being one of them. Underwater the leaves are broadly chordate, are soft, and translucent green. Above the water the leaves are like cardboard. Does well in full sum or partial shade. This plant is a great filtering aid because of all of the roots that it exposes to the water as it grows. Will tolerate some frost.PRopagation is by seed and by harvesting the adventitious daughter plants that inevitably develop on the inflorescence.
