      This is the onlymemeber of this genus to be used as an aquariumplant, rather thanas a bog plant. This must be because it is the most tolerant of deep water and low light. What is lacks in leaf and flower size, it makes up for in the size of the storage tubers that it produces. They dwarf even those of the Giant Snowflake, N. indica (IBP067). THe submerged leaves, which you almost never see in the other species are broadly chordate to round and are held on short stems. ZONE 8
